Vanessa started her chocolate journey very early on since from an early age the favorite snack she slipped into her school bag was the famous hazelnut bar with the elephant logo. As she grew up, this passion for chocolate and cooking developed, she multiplied culinary trials in the family kitchen making cakes, pastries, yule logs…but always with chocolate of course. In 2015, after a university course in management and a few years of experience in the banking sector, Vanessa decided to return to this love for chocolate by following an evening course as a chocolatier-confectioner. Everything will follow very quickly; start of complementary freelance activity in 2016, small Christmas markets, company orders, etc. Then in October 2018, she quit her job and started as an artisan chocolate maker by opening her own boutique-workshop near the European district of Brussels. It is in Etterbeek where she was born and raised that her chocolate factory is located and grows month after month. In September 2021, Vanessa received the award for Chocolate Maker of the Year 2022 for the Brussels Capital region. “

QUALITY CACAO FROM PERU
As soon as her chocolate factory opened, Vanessa chose to use organic and fair trade couverture chocolate from a cooperative of producers in Peru. This chocolate has aromas of red fruits and honey typical of criollo (red and yellow). The singularity of Vanessa's chocolates is this subtle balance of flavors. You will find in her pralines the taste of cocoa sublimated by that of the fruits or spices she uses for her ganaches. Her love for pure chocolate can be felt in all her chocolate creations. In addition to working mainly with organic and fair trade chocolate, she also pays attention to the basic ingredients. Among the pralines, tablets, lollipops and delicacies (truffles, orangettes, etc.), you will find lactose-free and 100% vegan products. These creations reflect the chocolate maker's own health concerns - lactose intolerance for Vanessa - while remaining very gourmet like her. New flavors and combinations are regularly tested, come and discover them at the chocolate factory or on the webshop. In the shop, chocolate products are also offered in bulk, you can come with your own container or reuse the tablet cases or praline boxes. This approach has been possible since the opening of the chocolate factory, indeed raising awareness of ecological issues is important for Vanessa. And since every little gesture counts, bulk and reuse of containers means a price reduction ;-) For example, 0.50€ less on your bulk tablet!
